Bring Your Kid to Work Day 2024

On April 25th , PE Systems opened its doors to the next generation of innovators, explorers, and dreamers as we commemorated Bring Your Kid to Work Day. It was a fun-filled day in which the kids experienced life at PE Systems firsthand.

The day kicked off with breakfast and a warm welcome from CEO and President Marissa King. Throughout the event, the children participated in activities that explored careers and gave them a deeper understanding of what their parents do at PE Systems. Of course, it wasn’t all about work—plenty of fun games kept everyone entertained!

Career Exploration and Education
The kids shared their dream occupations and envisioned themselves as CEOs, coming up with three rules they would implement if they were in
charge for a day. They interviewed staff members, asking questions to learn more about life at PE Systems. Doug Cooper, our COO, gave insights into PE Systems’ support for the Air Force. Inspired by this, the kids crafted paper airplanes and tested their flight capabilities in the hallways. They also participated in a Company Logo competition, where each young artist received a printed copy of the company’s logo to color. Various indirect employees engaged with the children, sharing anecdotes and stories as well.

Fun and Games
Our PE Systems team organized a scavenger hunt that took the kids around the office where they met and learned from employees in all departments.
They played games like ‘Spin the Wheel,’ Bingo, and “Who’s on Your Team,” which was a game about learning who their parents work with on a daily basis, earning prizes like candy and small toys along the way.  The kids also painted mugs to give as gifts and tokens of appreciation to staff members.

As the day concluded, the children departed with a newfound understanding of the work their parents do and the impact of their roles at PE Systems. “Seeing the joy and excitement on the faces of both employees and their children/family members was truly uplifting and reinforced the sense of family that we foster at PE Systems,” said Marissa King. “It was a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines our team and organization as a whole.”
