PE Systems employees took time away from their desks to volunteer their time to support the third annual “Nourish the Service, Empowering Families Event” on Friday, June 21st. The event provided boxes of perishable and nonperishable food, personal care items, household items and games to military families struggling with food insecurities, free of charge.
This year’s event took place at the Hope Hotel in Fairborn, Ohio. The event strives to combat food insecurities among military families, particularly among the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base community. Organized by the Dayton, Ohio Chapter of Blue Star Families, under the leadership of Dr. Geri Lynn Maples, and with support from multiple organizations, including PE Systems, Inc., this initiative embodies the essence of serving those in need.
On Wednesday, June 19th, a multitude of PE Systems employees volunteered their time and effort to assist in preparing for the event. Their tasks encompassed a variety of responsibilities crucial to the setup process, including meticulously filling bags with essential household supplies and organizing entertaining games to enrich the attendees’ experience. Following the productive setup session, participants were treated to a well-deserved break enjoyed over slices of delicious pizza.
In addition to providing nourishing items, Blue Star Families, and the local community united to collect essential blood donations, demonstrating their commitment to supporting military families and the broader community through acts of compassion.
